6 Beauty Hacks You Never Knew

Want some beauty tips that make your life easier and your wallet a little heavier (meaning I'm saving you some serious mula!)? Try some of these tips and let me know what you think!

1. Before putting on eyeshadow, take a piece of toilet paper and fold it in half. Hold underneath your eye while applying your eyeshadow so that it will catch the "fall out" that will inevitably try to trickle down onto your cheeks. When you are done, toss the toilet paper. The result? Your flawless foundation application is still perfect and your cheeks are still rosy! If some does find its way to your cheeks regardless of your efforts, use scotch tape to pick up the loose pigment.

2. Use raw potato slices to soothe your tired eyes. First wash, rinse, dry, and slice your potato. Next, apply a slice to your under eye area and then take a 15 minute relaxation break! Potatoes contain natural astringent properties that decrease water retention (aka puffiness) under your eye and also contain enzymes that help to lighten under eye circles.

3. Exfoliate your lips. Nothing is worse than trying to apply lipstick to flaky and dry lips. To combat this exfoliate your lips in the same way that you exfoliate your face. Once a week, add a sugar scrub into your regimen. Take a tablespoon of brown or white sugar and mix it with a little bit of Olive oil. You just need enough to make it into a paste. Rub this on your lips for about 30 to 60 seconds and you will have soft, flake-less, kissable lips in no time!

4. Don't be afraid to use oil on your skin - even if you are an oily hot mess. Why? It is simple. Over cleansing your skin causes your oil glands to produce even more oil to make up for what you are stripping away. Using an oil based product, helps to maintain your skins natural oil levels and helps to maintain the overall health of your epidermis (your top layer of skin).

5. Deodorant marks on your clothing. While this isn't technically a beauty secret, this is still one that will help! Use a dryer sheet to remove those pesky stains off of your clothes. Not only will this make you smell nice and fresh, it will make those marks disappear!

6. A beer rinse for your hair. Yes - you read that correctly. Using beer on your hair not only gives it a shine like you wouldn't believe, it also conditions your hair. While you are in the shower, pop the top and coat your hair from root to tip. Let it sit for five minutes and then rinse. Follow up with a conditioner and your hair will be soft and shiny all day. For some, the alcohol can be too drying. If you find this to be the case, try boiling the beer first. Let it cool and then apply using the same method.
